Important Dates and Rehearsals

  1. No Rehearsals: There will be no rehearsals on  19 April or 26 April
  2. Saturday 3 May Rehearsal: This will be tutorials for all sections.
    • Strings: At Mt Lawley SHS with the Darlington String Quartet (who are WASO Principals and WAAPA staff) and a WASO Bass player.

All other sectional tutorials are at WAAPA:

    • Woodwind:  with Peter Moore OAM
    • Brass:  with Bill Theis
    • Horns: with tutor tbc
    • Percussion:  with Tim White

We are investing a lot of resources into these tutorials, so we anticipate every member can attend as they lose their effectiveness if orchestra members are absent.

  1. For the Diary: Philharmonic Babies Proms
    • Show Dates: 16 August & 17 August at Perth College, Mt Lawley. Both days will finish by 12:30 PM.
    • Babies Proms Rehearsal: 9 August  from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at WAAPA. Attendance is essential to perform in the shows.
    • Please update your diaries. Schedules in the members area have been updated.

Further information about Babies Proms player rostering will be emailed in May.
Babies Proms are our special and important children family concerts – for anyone that does not know.

  1. Repertoire Reminder: the Gottschalk Night in the Tropics & Prokofiev Troika from Lieutenant Kije will not be performed in the 7 June Concert, so these works no longer require at home practise.
