Instrument Scholarships
WA Youth Orchestras, with the support of some generous donors, provides a range of instruments to members through its Instrument Scholarship Program. This initiative supports talented young musicians who have made significant contributions to WAYO, offering access to quality instruments they may not otherwise be able to purchase, including rare or specialised auxiliary instruments.
Scholarship Violins
Up to 10 high-quality violins (valued at over $200,000 in total) will be available to 2026 members by application.
The WAYO 18th Century Cello
The renowned 18th-century WAYO cello and W.E. Hill & Sons bow, valued at over $50,000, will also be available in 2026 by application.
In recent years, the cello has been awarded to WAYO Principal Cellists Finlay Labuschagne, Tiffany Lee & Miah Smith.
