RISE Ensemble Concert Information

The WAYO Ensembles concert Rise is coming up on Saturday 21st October at The Perth Concert Hall.

Below are some important details regarding the sound check and performance on Saturday 21st October at The Perth Concert Hall.

Please note the specific times for each ensemble below regarding concert and sound check times. You only have to attend the sound check in the morning for the time slot allocated to your ensemble. Once you have finished your rehearsal on stage you may leave. [ read more ]

Information for the concert weekend!

Saturday 30 September – Rehearsal – casual clothes

  • Callaway Auditorium 9am – 12pm
  • Rehearsal order
    • Pomp and Circumstance
    • Braveheart
    • Mendelssohn
    • These 3 pieces above will be rehearsed between 9 – 10/10:15am. Tchaikovsky players please be ready by 10am in case we go on straight away.
    • Tchaikovsky – Mvt 4, then 1, 2, 3

Sunday 1 October – rehearsal and concert – All Black concert dress for both

WAYO | Rehearsal 23 September PCH

This Saturday 23 September rehearsal will be at Perth Concert Hall.

  • Please arrive by 9am.
  • Access is through stage door only (inside backstage car park). Please tick your name off the sign in sheet at the desk.

There is no entry or exit through the main foyer doors as these will be locked. Please do not exit through the foyer doors as you will set off the alarms.

  • Orchestra rehearsal 9:30am – 12pm (including break).

Philharmonic Schedule Changes

We’ve had a cracking start to Semester 2!

After 5 rehearsals you should all be finished “learning your notes” so you can begin working on the fine details and musicality in your rehearsals. Please make sure you practice your music at home and take your part to your instrumental teacher during the week to work on those more difficult sections. This isn’t easy repertoire so please practice between rehearsals.

Camerata PCH Concert Sound Check Time Change

There has been a change in schedule for the Camerata concert sound check rehearsal on Saturday 21st October.

  • Your sound check time has moved to 9am – 9:30am, due to operation requirements.

There are no changes to your upcoming regular Saturday rehearsal times at WAAPA. Please make sure you arrive by 8:50am at the latest so you are unpacked and seated BEFORE 9am rehearsal start.

Meet the Musician: Emma Ou

"I began playing in the WA Youth Orchestras Association in 2017 in Sinfonietta. After spending a year in Sinfonietta, Collegium and Philharmonic, I joined the WA Youth Orchestra in 2020. I have learnt so much from all the different ensembles and they have all strongly contributed to my musical journey thus far."

Season 2 – Northey conducts WAYO – Perth Concert Hall – 7:30pm Saturday 8 July

  • Tickets are on sale now so don’t miss out booking your favourite seats.
  • All music and rostering are up online. Check the detailed rehearsal schedule for exactly when each piece will be rehearsed during the week.
  • Rehearsals start Monday 3 July. Concert is 7:30pm Saturday 8 July at Perth Concert Hall.
