Physical Wellbeing Pilot Program

WAYO is developing a Movement for Musicians program and resource by engaging professional pilates instructors to assess, develop, and empower musicians in physical wellbeing and techniques tailored to their specific instruments. The aim of the pilot program is to:
· Promote recognition of early symptoms and causes of injuries in young musicians
· Improve knowledge and skills regarding injury-prevention exercises
· Reduce the risk posed by unhealthy practices in music ensembles, both within and beyond WAYO
· Compile a reference guide for use and dissemination upon program completion

Emotional Wellbeing
A SEW-Arts Initiative
The SEW-Arts resource aims to support arts organisations enhance students’ social and emotional wellbeing (SEW) through their programs. Work undertaken through the Building Social and Emotional Wellbeing through the Arts research project highlighted four Key Areas of opportunity to enhance SEW through the arts: Mindfulness, Flow, Compassion and Resilience.
At WAYO, the integration of SEW-Arts principles enhance members’ social and emotional wellbeing through the integration of entrenched pedagogies, strategies, structures, and settings within WAYO’s activities.
