The Philharmonic is the Association’s second most senior ensemble; a full symphony orchestra of up to 90 musicians exploring a wide and varied repertoire of symphonic-inspired works. From symphonies and overtures to concertos and tone poems, the Philharmonic gives its members the experience of performing the full breadth of music written for a large orchestra.
Under a supportive yet ambitious atmosphere, members develop the technique, musicianship and ensemble skills that prepare them for the WA Youth Orchestra and beyond. Many of WAYO’s finest players have built their foundations here.
In 2026, the Philharmonic was led by conductors Dale Pointon and Sara Duhig. This is where tomorrow’s orchestral musicians find their voice, building the artistry and confidence to take the next step on stage and in life.
