WAYO’s newest campaign is seeking to fund the purchase of much-needed percussion instrument upgrades. From booming emphasis in Beethoven’s 9th to the sounds of rolling thunder in Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, the timpani is the heartbeat that holds us together. Without its lustrous richness we wouldn’t have such special moments as the vibrant solo opening of the scherzo from Sibelius’s 1st Symphony, the hunter’s echoic gunshots in Prokofiev’s Peter & the Wolf, or the mystical ebullience of Uranus from Holst’s The Planets.

They’ve served us well for 33 years, but our Timpani set is due for a facelift and we need your help!

Just Beat It invites you to make a tangible difference to the lives of our young members by helping us upgrade our Timpani set and reinvigorate other essential percussion equipment. WAYO is committed to giving as many Western Australians as possible the lifelong benefit of music and we invite you to join us on this journey with a tax-deductible donation. With less than 17% of our funding coming from government sources, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to help us to sustain and evolve as an organisation, and contribute to the colourful arts landscape of Western Australia.
