Hello WAYO Members, Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Camerata 2026! We’re thrilled about what’s shaping up to be a fun and exciting year. Below is everything you need to know to get started:

Conductors

This year’s conductor is Daemon Clark.
We will also be joined by some specialist tutors during the year as part of the continuing WAYO Next program.

Rehearsals

First Rehearsal:

  • Date: Saturday, 14 February
  • Time: 10 AM – 12:00 PM
    Usual weekly rehearsals will start at 9am
  • Location: Old WAAPA, Building 1, 2 Bradford St, Mt Lawley: Handa Studio (view map)

Rehearsal Information:

  • Arrive early to warm up and tune before we begin.
  • Bring the following:
    • Your instrument and necessary accessories (double basses: please bring your own stool).
    • A 2B pencil for marking music.
    • A drink bottle and snack for the break.
  • WAYO will provide music, stands and chairs.

Breaks:

  • There will be a 20-minute break during Saturday rehearsals. Bring a snack and drink but refrain from eating inside the rehearsal rooms. Please dispose of rubbish in bins provided.

Rehearsal Room Etiquette:

  • Parents, please drop off members at the door. Our staff can assist with tuning or setup if needed.
  • Phone-Free Zone. Rehearsal rooms are a NO PHONE ZONE. Phones may only be used during breaks.
  • Respect the rehearsal spaces by keeping them tidy and following venue rules.

Attendance & Absences:

  • Running late or absent? Notify our Operations team as soon as possible:
  • Provide at least 24 hours’ notice when possible. Early notice helps us plan rehearsals efficiently.

Concerts

The main concerts for Camerata this year are:

  • Sunday, 14 June – Taryn Fiebig Concert Hall, Churchlands Senior High School
  • Saturday, 31 October – State Theatre Centre of WA, Heath Ledger Theatre
